CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

 

1.   ORGANIZER

Organizing Committee of JAKARTA WORLD JUNIOR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2010.

                                         

2.   VENUE & DATES

      Damai Indah Golf – Pantai Indah Kapuk Course, June 1st-4th, 2010.

 

3.   ELIGIBILITY

The Championship is open to all junior golfers who are under 18 years of age on June 1st, 2010 and similarly for their age groups.

 

4.    SIZE OF FIELD

The field shall be limited to 144 players. Each International member Union/Association can nominate 8 junior players (one player in each age group of boys and girls).
The Organizing Committee take great pleasure in inviting four players (one of age group 15 - 17 years old and one of age group 13 - 14 years old for boys and girls), nominated by your Union/Association to participate in the above Championship and form two teams in the International Team Event. The Organizing Committee has the right to finalize the number of golfers to play in this tournament.

 

6.    FORMAT

 

Individual Event:

The Individual competition will be conducted over the following age groups :

Note:   If the number of entries is less than 5 in any of the above groups, the Organizing Committee may, at its absolute discretion, combine the players to play in any other group or groups.

International Team Event:

Boys Team Event:
Each Boys Team must comprise of 2 players, one from Class A and one from Class B. The total of the team’s score for 4 rounds shall be the team‘s score for the Championship. The team returning the lowest score for the Championship shall be the winner.

Girls Team Event:
Each Girls Team must comprise of 2 players, one from Class A and one from Class B. The total of the team’s score for 3 rounds shall be the team’s score for the Championship. The team returning the lowest score for the Championship shall be the winner.
 

6.   MANNER OF PLAY

72 holes stroke play competition for Boys’ Class A & B.
54 holes stroke play competition for Boys’ Class C & D.
54 holes stroke play competition for Girls’ Class A, B, C & D 

 

7.   TEES

Boys Class A : Black tees, 6.533 meters, Slope Rating (146)
Boys Class B : Blue tees, 6.084 meters, Slope Rating (138)
Boys Class C : White tees, 5.497 meters, Slope Rating (130)
Boys Class D : Yellow tees, 4.665 meters.

Girls Class A : White tees, 5.497 meters, Slope Rating (139)
Girls Class B : Red tees, 4.970 meters, Slope Rating (132)
Girls Class C : Red tees, 4.970 meters, Slope Rating (132)
Girls Class D : Yellow tees, 4.655 meters.
 

8.    AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to:

Individual Competition :

  1. Best Gross Overall Trophy and prize will be granted to the lowest score of Boys Class A.

  2. Trophies and prizes will be granted to the Champion and 4 Runner-ups of Boys Classes A, B, C & D

  3. Trophies and prizes will be granted to the Champion and 4 Runner-ups Girls Classes A, B, C & D

In the interest of fellowship, a player who wins more than one trophy shall select the one he/she wishes to receive and shall give up the other(s) to the players(s) next in line.

Team Competition :

 

The Governor of DKI Jakarta Challenge Cup shall be awarded to the boys team champion (the team with the lowest total score for 4 days) :

  1. Champion

  2. 1st Runner-up

  3. 2nd Runner-up

The Governor of DKI Jakarta Challenge Cup shall be awarded to the girls team champion (the team with the lowest total score for 3 days) :

  1. Champion

  2. 1st Runner-up

  3. 2nd Runner-up

9.   TIES

Ties for first place, in both team and individual competitions, will be settled by a sudden death play-off. All team members shall be eligible to participate in the play off. All minor placing shall be decided based on a count back system as follows :

    1. Last 18 holes, if a tie still persists, then,
    2. Last 9 holes (hole 10-18), if a tie still persists, then,
    3. Last 6 holes (hole 13-18), if a tie still persists, then,
    4. Last 3 holes (hole 16-18), if a tie still persists, then,
    5. Hole 18.

If a tie still persists, then the preceding 18 holes, 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes in that order.

 

10.  OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND

Players are entitled to one free practice round (caddy fee US$ 15 or Rp. 150.000,-) on Monday, May 31st, 2010, at Pantai Indah Kapuk Course (last tee off time at 11.30) and must be reserved in advance. Practice round before that date will be subject to payment of Green Fees. This does not apply to Members of Damai Indah Golf. Players may practice at the driving range upon payment on his/her account (US$ 3.5 or Rp. 35.000,- / 50 balls).

 

11.  RULES OF GOLF

The Championship will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf approved by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and with the Local Rules approved by the Organizing Committee. Disputes, if any, will be settled by the Organizing Committee, and a decision made by the Organizing Committee will be final.

 

12.  DRIVING CLUBS

Any driver the player carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by the R&A.
Exemption : A driver with a clubhead that was manufactured prior to 1999 is exempt from this condition

13.  GOLF BALLS

The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R&A.

14.  ONE BALL CONDITION
Limitation on balls used during round (Note to Rule 5-1).
During a stipulated round, the balls a player plays must be the same brand and model as detailed by single entry on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by The R&A.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION : DISQUALIFICATION

15. TIME OF STARTING
Player must report to the Starter Office 30 minutes before his/her starting time and should arrive at the starting point 10 minutes before his/her starting time. Rule 33-7 will be applied for a breach to this Rule. If a player arrives at the starting tee, ready to play, within five minutes after the starting time of his/her group, the penalty for the failure to start on time is 2 strokes, to be added to the score of the first hole, instead of disqualification.

 

16.  PACE OF PLAY
The player shall play in accordance with the laid down Pace of Play guidelines.

 

17.  ADVICE IN TEAM COMPETITION
In accordance with the Note to Rule 8 of the Rules of Golf, each team may appoint one person as a Team Captain, who may give an advice to members of that team, including pointing out a line for putting, but she/he must keep off the putting green. Such person must be identified to the Committee before giving advice.

 

18.  SPECTATORS (GALERY)
During stipulated round, all players are forbidden to have discussion with the spectators (Note to Rule 8-1). The spectators must remain on the cart path and keep a distance of 20 meters from the players.

19.  MOTORIZED CARS
Unless otherwise permitted by the Committee, players shall not use automotive transportation during a stipulated round.
GOLF CART WILL BE PROVIDED FOR TEAM CAPTAINS ONLY (PERSONAL COST)

 

20.  SUSPENSION OF PLAY TO A DANGEROUS SITUATION (Note to Rule 6-8b)
When play is suspend by the committee for a dangerous situation, if the players in a group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until the committee has ordered a resumption of play.
IF A PLAYER FAILS TO DISCONTINUE PLAY IMMEDIATELY, THE PLAYER IS DISQUALIFIED.

 

21.  EVACUATION PLAN
Rules officials, observers, roving marshals will take players and caddies to shelter on the course until the 4 buses situated on the course will fetch and transported them to the Clubhouse.

Location of buses on the course :

  • Bus No. 1 (location between Clubhouse and Tee Box 10) 
    For players’ evacuation on hole (1,2,10 and 18).
  • Bus No. 2 (location on road behind green 14 and shelter hole 15)
    For players’ evacuation on hole (2,3,4,15 and 16).
  • Bus No. 3 (location on road behind Tee Box 5 and green 14)
    For players’ evacuation on hole (5,6,9,13 and 14).
  • Bus No. 4 (location on road behind green 12 and Tee Box 13)
    For players’ evacuation on hole (7,8,9,11 and 12).

    All players and their caddies will be transported back to their last location on the course, while waiting for the signal for resume play. 

22.  SERIOUS BREACH OF ETIQUETTE
Serious breach of etiquette is now included in the Rules of Golf as approved by The R&A Rules Limited effective January 2004.

The following may be considered as serious breach of etiquette for this competition :

  1. Hand phone rings or use of hand phone during a stipulated round.
  2. Verbal abuse of fellow competitor / official / staffs.
  3. Intentionally disturbing or offending fellow competitor.
  4. Improper behaviors, such as swearing, kicking golf balls, make damage to any greens and throwing golf clubs.
  5. Smoking and consuming alcoholic drinks during a stipulated round.

23.  OTHERS

  1. Play will commence every day starting at 06.30 am. Tee times and pairings will be posted on the announcement board at the Club House and at the information desk at the Hotel and will be distributed to all players at PIK Course.
  2. Markers will be assigned to the Class D players. When the situation requires, the Organizing Committee will also assign a marker to players in other classes.
  3. Players must use official caddies assigned by the host club

24.  ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
The Organizing Committee will be appointed by the Damai Indah Golf Committee. In the event that the Organizing Committee is requested to make any decision involving the penalty of disqualification, each country whose player is involved may appoint a non-voting observer to attend.

Entry fee US$ 50 or Rp 500.000 (incl. VAT 10 %), caddy fee (incl. insurance) US$ 15 or Rp 150.000 /day.
